CAREER INFORMATION

Students have access to Xello where they can also take interest inventories, such as the Personality Style, Learning Style, and Skills Lab, to help them discover how their interests, personality, and values relate to career paths.  Californiacolleges.edu is also an very resourceful tool helping students find careers, colleges, or training to reach their goals. 

COLLEGE INFORMATION

Many college representatives visit throughout the school year and students are able to meet with them during lunch. Check out the calendar below to see what colleges will be coming to campus soon. Other informational resources in the counseling office include: financial aid and SAT and ACT test preparation.

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION

Students can receive their Work Permit from the Career Center, learn about labor law information, and can get help creating a resume.  Students need to allow at least 24 hours for work permits to be processed.   

MILITARY INFORMATION

For those students interested in a military commitment, recruiters form the Orange County area provide materials from all branches of the military.  Furthermore, the ASVAB is administered yearly upon request in the Career Center, and is sponsored by the US Army. The Career Center provides help regarding the process of getting a congressional appointment to one of the Military Service Academies i.e., West Point, Annapolis, Air Force, Merchant Marine, and Coast Guard). 

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM

A community service program is offered by OUSD to encourage students in grades 10-12 to participate in worthwhile social service activities as part of their high school experience.  The community service program is not a graduation requirement.  Students that choose to participate in the program will be honored at graduation with a ceremonial cord to wear.  50 hours per year in grades 10-12 is required for graduation cord distinction.
