The goal of the program is to clean up, spruce up and beautify Canyon High School. Parent volunteers, student volunteers and community service groups work together to beautify Canyon High School. Some tasks include general trash pick up, weeding, mulching, painting and planting. Service hours will be given to students.

Choices and Consequences and Every 15 Minutes: Every 15 Minutes is a 2-day event for high school juniors and seniors. The program challenges them to think about the consequences of drinking and driving, personal safety, the responsibility of making mature decisions, and the impact their decision have on family, friends and many others. The program brings together a broad coalition of interested local agencies with the goal of reducing alcohol-related incidents among the youths. Canyon High School, local law enforcement, local businesses and local service groups validate the importance of working together to ensure a healthy community. Choices and Consequences brings the court justice system to our campus. A real court proceeding will play out in front of the juniors and seniors with a judge, a defendant and a lawyer. The goal of the program is show the consequences of drinking and driving. These 2 programs will be presented in alternating years.

PTSA is proud to be able to provide seminars and speakers to educate parents on relevant topics. In the past, we have had speakers in the following areas: Planning for college, Drugs and Drug Abuse, Mental Wellness, Teens and Technology (Cell phones, social media, etc). If there is particular subject that interest you, please let us know.

Welcome Canyon Faculty and Staff,  

The Canyon PTSA is looking forward to supporting our high school through the 2020 curriculum grant program.  This program awards funds to faculty and staff for educational materials or equipment not usually provided by the school, district or state.  Here are this year's application guidelines:

- Applications will be accepted Monday, November 2nd through Monday, December 7th, 2020.  

- Grant recipients will be notified by Monday, January 18, 2021.  

- Grant funds must be spent by Saturday, April 17, 2021.

- Applicants MUST be a current member of Canyon PTSA.

- ONLY one application may be submitted per person either as an individual or as part of a school team.

- Registration guidelines must be followed for any items received as they will be considered property of Canyon High School.  A PTSA fiduciary agreement will be completed and returned to the Canyon PTSA treasurer for any grant funded electronics, hardware, software and other equipment.  These items must also be registered with a barcode through the school librarian and returned to the library at the end of the school year.  Before a grant is awarded, the applicant must ensure it is compatible with the district network.    

- A PTSA committee will review applications and award grant funds based on the total number of applications received, past grants received, clearly stated implementation plan that describes educational value, number of students impacted and how classroom experiences will be enhanced, as well as the total budget allocated from PTSA's funding sources.  Tools needed for distance learning will be strongly considered.  Personal protective equipment, paper products and cleaning supplies are not eligible at this time.

- Canyon's Principal will review all applications after submission and before PTSA grant committee review.

CURRICULUM GRANT APPLICATION

Purpose: The Canyon High School PTSA offers scholarships each year to CHS graduating seniors to recognize volunteer service at Canyon High School and in the community. The scholarship provides funds for student PTSA members to register for courses at accredited colleges, universities, trade or technical schools.

Applications Due Date: APRIL 11, 2025 by 3:00pm (No Late Applications will be Accepted!)

Eligibility: For the Canyon High School PTSA Scholarship, successful applicants must meet the following criteria:

• PTSA member graduating from Canyon High School between January 1 and June 30 of the current academic year
• Current student member of Canyon High School PTSA ** If not a PTSA member yet, please sign up at https://jointotem.com/ca/anaheim/canyon-high-school-ptsa
• Applicants must have at least a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 weighted, including seventh semester grades.

Scholarship to be used during fall semester following high school graduation for studies at accredited colleges, universities, trade or technical schools.

Application Materials must be received by April 11, 2025 by 3:00pm.

Selection: The Canyon High School PTSA Scholarship Committee will read each application and select recipients. Scholarship recipients will receive a recognition certificate from the Canyon High School PTSA and their name will be added to the Scholarship Plaque in the Administration office. A check will be issued to each recipient.

The Health and Safety chair will support and coordinate volunteers for health related programs such as the Vision and Hearing Screening. Volunteers are needed for this 2 day event.

We show our teachers how much we appreciate them by hosting a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon in the spring. Volunteers can donate food items and or time to the event. Coordinated by our Hospitality Chair:
