Journalism is designed for students with a love of writing and story telling.  The students are responsible for producing the school magazine, Voices, our online news site, Smoke Signals, and creating content for our social media channels. Course instruction is centered on introducing students to the many aspects of journalism, new journalism, and marketing. Furthermore, students learn the essentials of writing in addition to evaluating news effectively.  Students are also exposed to design and layout, visual composition, and story telling. The class is run like a real newsroom and is primarily student directed. Students must learn to work together as a team to reach firm goals. Students from all grade levels participate in this course and enjoy refining their journalistic skills.
